Mederise was born in 1858 in quebec, Canada to Pierre St. Hiliare and Carmelite Dupuis. Mederise St Hiliare was the first born of eleven children. She naturaiized in 1925, 7 years after her husband died and 5 years before she remarried to Frank Croteau. Mederese was listed as 5'2", brown hair and brown eyes (1925 naturalization papers). Mederese passed away in 1931 surviving Frank who died one year earlier.. ^[1]
